what is BPD?

Hey everyone! This post has been a long time coming. As someone who’s been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder since age 16, I thought it would be nice to share some education relating to what I deal with.

Of course, if you relate to my description, I highly encourage you to connect with a licensed mental health professional to correctly diagnose and treat you as I am NOT a doctor of any sort! Just a person living with mental illness who wanted to share some insight!

One thing I want to mention about the subtypes of BPD is that I’ve also found mine has changed a lot with age. For example, upon diagnosis, I was very much dealing with impulsive bpd as well as a bit of self destructive bpd. Around age 18 I found myself dealing with a lot of petulant bpd, and currently at age 21, my bpd is a lot more like quiet bpd with a bit of petulant.
