Lupus Sucks

Starting in April of 2023 it began looking like a little sunburn on my cheeks, slowly started looking maybe like a rash. didn’t seem to want to go away. so i go to urgent care. they say i’ve had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics i took for an infection. i started some steroids for a week. no change at all. i decided to go to my family doctor after still no change. just getting worse. my family doctor had no idea. my doctor referred me to a dermatologist but the soonest they could get me in was the end of june. finally went to the dermatologist who did bloodwork and finally came to terms i had lupus. she referred me to a rheumatologist. took me 3 months to get in to see him. so in October i had my first rheumatologist appointment. he started me on some lupus meds that i take daily and i see him every 3 months. it was one of the longest processes of my life. i did not want to leave my house, go out, or do anything. my face looked so bad. i would cry myself to sleep not knowing if my face would every be the same. i didn’t know if my face was gonna scar. somehow, someway my face healed completely. i thank god everyday. #lupusstruggles
