The Hottest New KBBQ in the Bay Area

This the newest kbbq spot to open in San Jose. It is super popular because Baekjeong has locations all over the world!

We got lucky and got reservations for 15 people on Labor Day at 11a. The line when we got there was crazy and was about a 3 hour long wait. Fully expect to go do shopping while you wait unless you have reservations.

They completely cook everything for you here but our waiter was both our cook for 2 grills and server to get additional banchan and condiments as well as the unlimited egg and corn cheese. This corn cheese is some of the best I’ve ever had and their banchan was a great spread. Extra bonus points for rice paper!

We ordered 3 large beef combos and 2 large pork combos as well as one order of large intestine. We also each got a drink each. Total with tip came out to be about $70/person. Pretty standard for kbbq nowadays but when did it get so expensive?!

Beef combo 4/5

Brisket was my favorite as it was tender and goes well with the dips including ssamjang. My next favorite was the short rib which was tasty and tender! The ribeye steak was my least favorite and I was really unimpressed.

Pork combo 3/5

The pork jowl was the best out of this combo and a 5/5 but the rest of the combo was not worth it. The pork belly is FAR too thick so you don’t get nice crispy pieces. The marinated pork steak was by far my least favorite as the marinade was not tasty to me and didn’t blend well with the dips and accoutrements.

Large intestine 4/5

This plate was huge. They give you so much intestine. I am not a fan at all of intestine but this was delicious and fatty and so tasty. Would highly recommend trying it out.

Overall, this place is not worth the crazy wait. But you should come try it as it is one of the most decent kbbq in the Bay Area that isn’t a Michelin star or crazy super expensive. Just make sure to make reservations.
