I guess i’m just very unlucky…. 😭😷

Since it’s pretty rare for adults to get Hand Foot Mouth Disease (HFMD), i thought it would be interesting to share with you guys some insights about HFMD and how i spent my days 🥲

Incase y’all dont know, HFMD is an infectious disease that bring sores/rashes to the above areas and commonly occured in children but I guess.. i am still a child afterall 😂

1️⃣ HOW DID IT FEEL?

- Imagine running 24km and having blisters afterwards because of improper shoes so now you can’t really walk because of the blisters… YEAP that’s me 🥲

- It was painful whenever i step on the ground and i had to wear socks (which also protect the people in my household as it’s a contact precaution disease!)

- I was lucky to not have the itchy sensation (I got it when i was a child and it was super itchy but now i’m just feeling pain)

2️⃣ HOW DID I GET INFECTED?

- Honestly, no idea!! I wasnt a close contact of anyone with HFMD so it could be from my workplace or my home.

- A common misconception about HFMD is that you wont get it again after contracting it once but that’s not true due to the many different strains of HFMD! 😢

3️⃣ WHAT DID I DO AFT GETTING INFECTED?

- I spent my days catching up on netflix shows (COMMENT WITH EMOJI IF YOU ARE WATCHING THE SAME KDRAMA AS ME!!!) and spamming lots of water.

- I took meds for symptomatic relief and praying everyday that my spots get lesser but each day more spots will grow at different areas! Now my fingers are filled with small red spots that i could connect those dots HAHA 🤣

4️⃣ WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOU ARE A CLOSE CONTACT?

- Wash your hands regularly with soap! Unlike COVID, this is more contact precaution meaning you should refrain from touching common surfaces and ME HAHAHA.

- Don’t share food too and vulnerable people such as preggos and kids should isolate from the person with HFMD!

Please take care of yourself and drink more water as the flu bug is here toooo 😷
