here are some tips i always share with my friends when they ask me about moving to australia

1) It's easier to apply for jobs when you're in the country

This means bringing yourself to the country with a valid visa first. A common way is working holiday or student visa. Finding jobs on a tourist visa is ILLEGAL

(This applies to marketing/advertising/comms roles. There are other industries where it's easy to apply even offshore, like nursing or IT)

2) Prepare for a different interview style

Interviews in Australia are often more informal and conversational. Be prepared for situational and behavioural questions that assess how you fit with the team.

3) Pick up phone calls ALL THE TIME

Aussies love to talk on the phone idky. But the first step of an interview is always a phone call and if you miss that call, your resume is getting tossed away immediately.

4) know your rights

Familiarise yourself with Australian employment laws, including minimum wage, leave entitlements, and workplace rights. Some employers love taking advantage of foreigners, thinking we don’t know better
