Why I chose no dress for my maternity photos

I almost didn’t take maternity photos because I just assumed I had to put on a long flowy dress and frolic in a field of flowers to show how happy I was to be pregnant. That just wasn’t me.

When I told a photographer friend of mine that I wanted something badass, she delivered!

1. I wanted to feel myself. I’m not a frou-frou kind of girl, I liked the idea of wearing things I would wear everyday but with a twist

2. I was having a boy and wanted the pics to match the vibe of his nursery if I chose to hang them

3. I didn’t want to be in a field of flowers or on a beach. We chose the top of a parking garage downtown.
