Nasi Lemak is a beloved dish among Malaysians, known for its rich flavors and comforting familiarity. When we were invited to try Nasi Lemak Wau nestled inside EkoCheras Mall, our first thought was, “Jual dalam Mall but BELOW RM5 je! Could they pass the checklist of good Nasi Lemak or not?

Nasi: Wangi and Fluffy

Pernah tak regretted beli nasi lemak sbb nasi overcooked & lembik? Not here. The rice is bersantan, wangi, well-cooked plus nasi is fluffy. If tak nak coconut rice, they offer turmeric rice if you prefer a different twist.

Sambal: Sweet + Spicy & Savoury

The sambal is sweet, spicy, savoury & thick enough to coat the rice. Pedas tu tak over power, so you can makan tanpa ragu. Bessst !!

Nasi Lemak Biasa which is below RM5 comes with nasi, sambal, ikan bilis, kacang, telur rebus and timun. Perfect !! You can add sides and drinks to customize your meal.

We opted for the NL Wau 12-spice Fried Chicken and Traditional Sotong Sambal for add-on. Fried chicken mmg sedap, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Biasanya I hesitate pilih sotong because it can be rubbery. But here the sotong texture is springy, juicy and free of seafood smell.

Erppppp!! So full, satisfied and happy to say that Nasi Lemak Wau ticks all the boxes for a good nasi lemak experience and give it a try when you’re at EkoCheras Mall—it’s a delicious local meal that’s price-worthy.
