I've made this dish COUNTLESS times and it's really the perfect lazy girl / 1-person / weeknight meal.

It comes together really quickly, and is very satisfying as well 🤤

Ingredients needed:

- Udon

- Garlic

- Soy sauce

- Butter

- Black pepper (optional)

How to make it:

Step 1: Deep-fry your garlic in your microwave.

Mince your garlic finely and transfer to a microwave-safe bowl. Pour enough oil to cover the garlic, microwave on full power for 2-3 min, then strain the oil out and put your crispy garlic aside.

Step 2: Cook your udon. Undercook it a little bit because you'll continue cooking it when you make the soy butter sauce!

Step 3: Once it's (almost but not quite) cooked, pour away 95% of the water, and in the same pan, add 1 tbsp of butter + 1.5 tbsp of soy sauce. Reduce till the liquid is thick and glossy, and coats the noodles.

Season to taste here - you'll probably need to add more salt! (It's better to add later than earlier. If you add it too early, it's hard to gauge how much to add, because the sauce will also become saltier as you reduce it).

Step 4: Add black pepper (optional), and top with the crispy garlic. Enjoy!
