It's about sensory overload at play!

Have you experienced this? Everything seems fine, and suddenly you feel immensely irritable. This could be a sign of sensory overload. People with ADHD often have heightened sensitivity compared to others, which can lead to excessive frustration and discomfort.

Here are some situations I often encounter—have you experienced these too?

1. Unable to concentrate because of minor noises. 👂

2. Feeling tense or even angry when someone taps you on the shoulder. 👤

3. Getting furious over unpleasant smells in the subway. 🚇

4. Becoming irritable when hearing someone chew loudly during meals. 🍽️

5. Feeling annoyed when receiving instructions or lectures at work. 💼

6. Feeling the urge to send multiple messages if someone doesn't reply immediately. 📱

7. Skin prone to various allergic reactions. 🌿

8. Unable to tolerate bright lights, leading to restlessness. 💡

Many say we're too sensitive, but perhaps it's due to ""sensory overload."" When the brain cannot process too much information, it leads to physical and psychological discomfort, resulting in anxiety, tension, and irritability, and even affecting sleep quality.

Tips for Managing Sensory Overload

The most effective method is to take a short break immediately! Do nothing—just sit or lie quietly for 5 to 15 minutes. Don't look at your phone or talk. Allow yourself to escape sensory stimuli. This short period can significantly alleviate the discomfort caused by sensory overload. Tried and tested as effective! 🛌✨
