This book is described as “Squid Games meets The Left Hand of Darkness meets Under the Skin.” I’m not sure if I agree with that analysis, but I will say it is definitely an odd exploration of gender and sexuality wrapped up in an alien story.

This is about an alien that finds themselves having crash landed on earth. They have an insatiable desire to consume human flesh, and they also have the ability to shapeshift in order to blend in with humans.

I found it overall to be a cool concept, but the writing was a bit … harsh? The sentence structure, word choice, etc. all felt robotic - which I am sure was intentional - but it made the reading experience a bit less smooth for me.

If you are not easily disturbed and the synopsis sounds interesting, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a try!
