Where to stay in HCM District 1?

we recently went to hcm for a 4d3n trip and were satisfied with our hotel!!! as we went this trip with Q’s parents, we opted for a more comfortable and lux choice.

hotel of choice: M City Hotel Saigon

price point: $138/per night (executive room; inclusive of breakfast)

here’s our experience:

1️⃣ entry — we took grab from the ho chi minh city airport, which took around 30 mins to reach our hotel. the hotel appearance doesn’t shout HOTEL at your face so the local driver actually overshot the entrance. we had to alight along the roadside as there’s no drop off point (we reached at 12+pm). however, we were greeted with their doorbell men and were readily at our service, carrying our luggages up the flight of steps to their glass door entrance (it does seems like it’s part of their practice). while waiting to check in, we were given nice cooling guava juice and it was really refreshing!! (totally didn’t expect it to taste so good; Q’s parents liked it too)

2️⃣ front desk — as we arrived early, we were just trying our luck to see if we could get an early check in. the regulated check in time was 3pm and they actually brought it forward to 1.30pm! we also requested for side by side/opposite rooms for more convenience and they were nice to make that arrangement for us! hence, we stored our luggage at the lobby and hunted for lunch near the hotel.

3️⃣ bathtub — see picture 5. yes we actually booked this because there was a bathtub in it and it could fit 2 pax! we chose rooms with bathtub as we wanted to have wind down nights since we will be walking tons while exploring HCM. and this was a brilliant choice made! just bring a bathbomb and relax in the tub at the end of the day!!

4️⃣ location — we were situated at district 1, which is similar to sg’s orchard road. there were many food choices like local food restaurants, cafes, bars, and even starbucks, all available within our vicinity.

5️⃣ breakfast — this is my second time having breakfast in hotel and wow i must say i’m very satisfied!! i’m quite a picky eater (i admit it) but they provided a variety of breakfast style such as western (bacon egg toast), asian (porridge), and vietnamese (pho)! they even had an egg station where a chef will be there to take your orders of your egg request (hard boiled, soft boiled or sunny side up) and ofc they nailed it 👍🏻

if you’re not on a tight budget and prefer to stay for comfort or travelling with older parents, Q and i definitely recommend this hotel due to their service and convenience to nearby locations! let us know if you tried/are planning to try!
