Hi everyone, thought it would be a safe space to share more about my insecurity which mainly concerns about my skin. Growing up, I've always had no skin issues. Even during my puberty phase, breaking out didn't occur to me until i was 19. A little background about my skin, I have a dry to combi skin type and senstitive skin. I am pretty selective with the products that I apply on my face because a lot of them would have this burning sensation followed by a breakout😦.

Over the years, I have been trying out different products that help meet my skin needs. A lot of research was also incorporated to know the main cause of my breakout, which was weak skin barrier. To tackle the issue, I mainly introduce hylauronic acid products to my skin to help hydrate and strengthen my skin barrier!

At that time, I tried out the @Laneige waterbank series which includes their toner and serum (pics 4 & 5). I purchased their oily to combi series which works on my skin best. It doesnt leave any sticky residue and penetrate my skin layer well. There would also be this glow on my skin, kinda giving glass skin, the morning after i apply my skincare which I loveeee❤️.

To ensure that I receive maximum hydration for my sahara desert skin, I would apply @Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream after my serum. It has properties that penetrates your skin layer up to 15 layers deep. Love how theres this tingly cooling sensation upon application as it helps to soothe all my blemishes as well.

Omce I have build up my skin barrier, I began focusing on other skin troubles such as textured skin, hyperpigmentation and stubborn blackhead on my nose. For stubborn blackheads, I use the Paula's Choice BHA exfoliant 2-3 times a week for starters! As I have quite sensitive skin, I will use the sandwich method to get my skin used to the new products introduced. This exfoliant helps to break down and dissolve the blackheads without needing to squeeze them😵‍💫 Downside of this product is that it does have an unpleasant smell.

For Hyperpigmentation, I use the @Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot on a daily basis to lighten all my post-acne marks! As I am quite fair, these marks can be visibly seen superrr easily😭 I incorporated this into my morning routine after my toner followed by sunscreen after!!! Visible results can be shown after a month or so if used religiously, but results really varies according to individual.

For textured skin, I used the Anua Heartleaf Toner Pad to minimise my pore appearance as well as smoothen my skin 😋 What I love about toner pads is that it can be used to wipe across the face on a daily basis or it can be used as a spot treatment mask to target specific trouble areas such as the cheeks or forehead. This toner pad was a game changer because my skin ALWAYS looks so glowy the morning afterr😩

Lastly, to help with the general issue of textured skin, hyperpigmentation and fine lines, I use the Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream 2 times a week at night! This helps to boost and renew skin cells so that it gives you the baby skin look!😗 For starters, I use the sandwich method to curb with the purging phase because retinol can be really strong for some skin types😫 PLEASE DO NOT mix retinol with exfoliants because they clash and might do more harm than good to your skinn. What I love about this retinol is that, it is mixed with other ingredients to help the skin adapt to the use of retinol. These ingredients help to soothe your skin while the retinol does it job!

Overall, I would say to be patient with your skin and treat it like a tofu. Understand your skin needs before purchasing a product to try outt! Hope these recommendations can help those with similar skin types who are struggling with acne problems like meee😇
