changed 2 different workplaces in a year?

I was working shifts in my first job and currently I am working office hours. Oh the time I have for myself now and the rest, I have time for rest and time for family & loved ones with my regular hours 🥲 But I do miss working shifts as being an introvert myself, I do enjoy going out during weekdays with lesser or no people around🤣

To those who wants to quit within months of working due to burnout/workplace toxicity etc, just leave. Your wellbeing matters the most, your company can always replace someone for your job. Everyones journey is different so don't compare about resigning in less than 6 months or a year. Resign and do not ever look back 🫡 But do ensure that you are job searching at least 4-6mths prior and secured job interviews at least 1 month before resigning so yes, you need to plan your resignation.

Here are some differences with Shifts vs Office Hours:

⏰ Different shift hours:

It could vary from 8-12hrs or some 14hrs. It is tiring but you will only work 3-4days in a week (12-14hrs/day). But depending on your roster, you can have regular pattern shifts or the irregular ones 🙂

✈️ PH & AL:

Working shifts means there are some PHs you are not able to make it. Popular PHs and ALs are balloted (esp those with small children). Not to say ALs mostly plotted on a weekly basis instead of pick and choose a date like office hours. BUT ALs in shift work are so so so much more than Office hours but both work benefits have their pros and cons. (Shifts 20+ days vs Office Hours standard 14/15 days)

😴 Rest Days:

Shifts with irregular pattern isnt able to determine when is your next off day unlike those workplaces that has regular pattern nevertheless your body can be very wornout after a long shift. Meanwhile, Office hours' rest days are the Weekends + PHs + OILs 🫣

💵 Money:

Working shifts have its perks in terms of allowances, 2x/year bonuses and extra other benefits meanwhile Office hours (depending on company) have increments based on company's profit so you have to ensure the company you are working for is making loads 😂 So no doubt you will be earning more working shifts.

To those who may ask me if I would ever go back to working shifts, yes but I prefer a regular pattern and knowing when I will be working/resting so I can plan my free time 🥲
