…And just like that, I’m a PGY-2

Okay well let’s be honest, it didn’t happen just like that. It took a lot of courage, praying, sacrifices, dedication, sleepless nights, self doubt and a whole lot of imposter syndrome to get to this point.

One year ago today I showed up to my new job with so much fear and self doubt- my poor heart was pounding through my chest. For weeks I had daily break downs called family for reassurance and support (thank God for my support system- they are unmatched). Over time I slowly found my way and created a system that worked best for me. Journey to becoming (whatever that means for you) isn’t easy but if you decided it’s worth it then you deserve to give yourself a fighting chance.

For the past 2 days I’ve been working with our new interns and it has been so rewarding because there is so much wisdom and knowledge that come with perseverance and determination. I’m so grateful to be passing that on!

To all the new interns stepping into this new role. It will be difficult, challenging and frustrating at times but stick with it, show up everyday willing to be better. Your future self will thank you!

Lastly, NEVER suffer in silence. Always seek help and find a safe space. There will be trying times but #ItGetsBetter
