Siam & CentralWorld boring? Try these malls! 🇹🇭🏙️

After visiting Bangkok several times this year, I've grown tired of the same few malls. So, I set out on a quest to find some lesser-known or underrated malls that often fly under the radar. Here are my top four picks so you can take a break from always visiting Siam Paragon / IconSiam or CentralWorld alone.

Samyan Mitrtown

Overall Vibes: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Variety: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A lively shopping and lifestyle destination in central Bangkok, opened in late 2019. It features a mix of retail, dining, and entertainment options, including trendy boutiques, a diverse food court, and a co-working space, making it popular among students and young professionals. The mall also hosts cultural events, making it a vibrant community hub.

It’s frequented mostly by those working at the office building next door and young students so not much tourists.

The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi

Overall Vibes: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Variety: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bangkapi Mall is a popular shopping destination in Bangkok, known for its wide variety of retail shops, dining options, and entertainment facilities. With a focus on family-friendly experiences, it features a large food court, a cinema, and outdoor waterpark, making it a great spot for both shopping and leisure.

❗️Just note that it is located in the East of Central Bangkok so the journey is slightly further hence you won’t see as much tourist too. (It’s kind of like the Northpoint of Bangkok if you will)

Central Chidlom

Overall Vibes: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Variety: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Central Chidlom is an upscale shopping mall in Bangkok, renowned for its diverse range of high-end brands, gourmet dining options, and elegant ambiance. As part of the Central Group, it offers a luxurious shopping experience, including fashion, beauty, and lifestyle products, making it a favorite among both locals and tourists. And it connects to the Central Embassy mall on level 1 as well.

PHENIX Pratunam

Overall Vibes: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Variety: ⭐️⭐️

A relatively new mall renovated and revamped from the old Pantip Mall so not much shops is up yet and not much traffic around. But it’s very chill as there is plenty of sitting areas making it a nice place to just sit and relax. And it’s also walking distance from Platinum Mall so it’s worth a visit just to see.

‼️ Pro Tip: If you’re okay with travelling a little out of Central Bangkok, there is actually so many malls around that’s just as big as CentralWorld/IconSiam and less crowded because those malls are usually more frequented by locals.
