🇯🇵 Kyoto Starbucks is 10/10 vibes, but the food...

You probably would have seen this picturesque Starbucks appear on your IG feed numerous times. So did I. 😅 While I wasn't particularly hunting for it when I was in Kyoto, walking around the stone-paved streets of Ninenzaka led me to it. Why not since I'm already there right?

What's unique about this Starbucks Coffee - Kyoto Ninenzaka Yasaka Chaya is that it is housed within a wooden machiya, a traditional Japanese townhouse. It is also the world's first Starbucks to have tatami floors and tons of traditional Japanese influence. This of course made for great pictures. 📸

Thankfully there wasn't a queue that day and we quickly found our way in. But I was sorely disappointed to find nothing more special on the menu when compared to any other Starbucks outlet. So I settled for the usual matcha oat latte, which to me somehow tastes better in Japan. Agree? 🤷🏻‍♂️

The pictures speak for themselves, but when it comes to the food, I would honestly save my stomach (and money) for all the yummy street food up ahead leading to Kiyomizu-dera!
