I’m finally back with some updates because we are back from our wedding & honeymoon trip.🥰

Japan is really such a beauty (I don’t even have to edit my photos) and I can’t wait to share more. 😍

Our itinerary started off with Yamagata. We took the keisei line from Narita airport to Ueno station and transferred to the Yamagata Shinkansen to Yamagata station. It took us about 4 hours to reach Yamagata. We purchased tickets on the spot as we would be driving 50% of our trip hence we did not require a JR pass.

What we did at Yamagata:

1. Hike the Yamadera Temple

2. Ginzan Onsen - will do a seperate post on this

Where we stayed:

1. Hotel Metropolitan Yamagata - it’s just directly outside the JR station and it’s affordable. Bed is comfy and big enough for our 2 big luggages. 👍🏻 SGD 150/ night.

2. Notoya Ryokan - it’s one of the ryokan in Ginzan Onsen. The only one that I found that accept email reservation in English! lol most of their website are in Japanese and it’s a bit difficult to navigate even though there’s google translate. No prepayment is required as well so plus point!

They also provide shuttle bus from Oishida station so 👍🏻💯😍

It’s our most expensive accommodation but it’s expected. SGD 500/night inclusive of dinner and breakfast🫢

Overall we highly recommend this town in Japan if you’re a fan of nature and hot spring ☺️ you don’t have to drive to explore Yamagata. - compared to Niigata so 👍🏻
