I love color! I try to add it in my home whenever possible. But constantly buying different color cans of paint is too expensive. So I DIY my own chalk paint.

For approximately $5, I can have any color I want! I’ve painted chairs, bathroom vanities, and dressers with my DIY chalk paint and it’s all held up well.

A few of my favorite things:

-Can be made in any color

-No risk of running out of paint in the middle of a project

-Can be watered down to give more of a wash look and touch of color.

1 Tablespoon water

5 teaspoons calcium carbonate

4 oz. bottle of craft paint (or two 2oz bottles)

I bought a big bag of calcium carbonate on Amazon over a year and a half ago and have used it to make this recipe about 10 times and still have over half the bag left. It will last you a long time!
