First Birthday Decor Ideas

For our daughter’s first birthday, we had a “pumpkin/Rainbow” theme because she was born in the Fall and she was our rainbow baby (first baby born after a miscarriage or loss).

I made a giant rainbow out of pool noodles and used balloons to look like sprinkles on the wall. I spray painted a lot of little pumpkins I got from the Dollar Tree and went with a white/blush/gold theme.

I know, it’s a bit much for a 1 year old, but it’s just as much fun for us as her parents too!

Another cute idea I saw on Pinterest that I used was a 12-month board that had 1 photo from every month of her life. You print out 12 photos and put them in order of your baby growing up.

We used a balloon arch from Amazon (tried and true) and a few letter boards we already had. My husband made her birthday cake and we had a bounce house too!

First birthdays are supposed to be fun and exciting—you survived the first year!
