WORST HONGDAE ANIMAL CAFE - DO NOT VISIT ☹️☹️☹️👎👎👎

Worst animal cafe I’ve been to …. had high hopes for this cafe because it claims to have many animals, such as cats, dogs, raccoons, meerkat, alpaca, ferrets etc. I thought it would be a one stop animal cafe so we don’t have to visit so many different kinds, but the conditions were SUPER BAD.

🌸firstly, there were much less animals than expected. there were only the alpaca, ferrets, raccoons, meerkats, ducks, various snakes and lizards in the tanks. Each type of animal is separated in their own room. Before we opened the door, we had to call the staff (there was only 1 man manning the store) so that he could help us and prevent the animals from escaping.

🌸Next, the animals don’t look very well cared for :-( There was just one alpaca enclosed in the room and the staff told us not to touch the alpaca or it will be angry. I don’t think alpacas can be isolated for long periods because they are herd animals. The alpaca’s teeth look overgrown as well ?? We just came back from alpaca world the other day so seeing the alpaca in this state was very sad to look at !! ☹️ There were also ducks just waddling around and they did not even have any pond etc so I’m not sure if this is healthy for the ducks too ??

🌸The raccoons were also in a very bad environment. We were denied from entering the raccoon room at first because the raccoons were trying to pick at the lock to escape LOL. It was only after the staff distracted the raccoons with treats then we were able to go in. The entire room was filled with their shit and pee…. 🤢🤢🤢 We did not realize at first and still squatted and kneeled on the floor at first. This was the worst room in this animal cafe cus the raccoons seem very smart also ?? idk if I was delusional but ISTG one of the raccoons hate me because it tried to grab my film camera and I snatched it away from it HAHAHA then IDK I feel like it started being abit more aggressive and it even purposely stepped on my feet while walking pass a few times which I assume is a show of aggression? We left this room quickly LOL and it was quite hard to open the door without them escaping.

🌸The ferrets were by far the best room because they were non aggressive and clean. The meerkat were slightly more scary because they were super aggressive and will climb onto you. At first I thought it was cute but they started digging intensely at my blanket and shoes and it subsequently tried to bite my socks. While biting my socks my ankle got exposed and the meerkat bit my ankle IT WAS QUITE PAIN SIA but no blood.

🌸All in all it wasn’t a good experience overall because of the animal mistreatment and dirty environment. Would not recommend anyone to come here EVER it’s pretty much a rip off and I wished I didn’t visit this cafe and support an establishment that doesn’t care for its animals :-( #NotForMe
