pov: im the CHILD of YOUNG PARENTS 👶🏻

hi there! i hope your week is going good ❤️

ive been seeing young mummies post about their pregnancy (congrats!!! 🥳🤍) on tiktok and sharing about being a young parent on lemon8, so i thought of sharing from my pov: BEING THE CHILD OF YOUNG PARENTS 👩🏻👦🏻

my parents had me when they were 19, and i popped out when they were 20 👶🏻🍼 im 22 now, so that makes them 42! 👀

growing up, whenever someone asked me how old my parents were, they always end up shocked 😆 many people have asked me if my dad was my brother, and one of my friends even asked me if he was my boyfriend before LOL. aunties at coffeeshops have also called him xiao di before 😂 i love to flex my young parents 🤭🤭🤭

in the past, ive never thought much about my parents being young parents. now that im older and much more sensible, i understood the sacrifices they had to make because they had me 🥺

they werent able to continue pursuing their studies. after my parents had me, both of them started working full time. this left me in the care of grandparents so im close to grandma! 👵🏻

since young, my parents have given me everything i wanted 🥹 i dont come from a rich family. according to my mom i was a little brat who cried when i couldnt have a toy at toysrus 😭 I PROMISE IM NOT SPOILT NOW!!! but im thankful for how they rly tried their best to provide for me.

i have never been caned before too 🤭 maybe its because they’re younger, they are unlike “traditional asian parents”. i have never been caned or hit before.

i had many happy memories growing up! my parents often brought me and my sister to theme parks, indoor playgrounds, and animal farms 🦆🐥🐔🪿🐰

as for education - they have never been strict with that ☺️ they are happy as long as we tried our best, and have never forced me to go down a certain path. i chose the course i wanted to study in poly and uni ✌🏼 and they support everything me and my sister choose to do.

they r rly goofy too! not sure if its because they are young or simply because of our family dynamics HAHA but there is laugher and fun almost everyday at home 😂 im rly grateful to have that!

anyways, i think the point of me writing this is to encourage young mummies and daddies out there 🩷🩵 i understand the stigma behind being pregnant at a young age (even though its getting better now)

being teen / young parents might be scary, but everything will be worth it in the end! 💪🏼 i turned out fine anyways 🤪 lmk if you have any questions!
