I know from my work as a dietitian that a lot of people struggle to get even 18g of fiber in their day on average.

If I was being general I would say, “eat more fruits, veggies, whole grains, and legumes” but sometimes general advice isn’t that helpful!

Here are some specific foods I eat to get more fiber in my diet. 🥑 Raspberries, avocado, chickpeas, lentils, and riced hearts of palm.

Fiber comes from certain carb sources. It is digested differently than other carbs. Well actually, it isn’t really digested. It makes up the bulk of your stool! Eating a high fiber diet helps with regular digestion, keeping blood sugar stable, lower cholesterol, and also can help with fat loss! And usually if you are eating high fiber foods you are also getting a lot of nutrients in (because they are whole foods).

The good news is, there are a lot of other foods with fiber. So if you don’t like these ones, don’t worry!

A quick google search can give you a long list of foods with fiber. 🔍

I generally recommend 24-38g of fiber per day. Most fruits and veggies only have 2-3g per serving other than a few that really pack a punch, so you have to focus on all these foods adding up through out the day!

P.s. try the air fried chickpeas!! I don’t really like regular chickpeas but this makes them so good!! I could eat a whole can.
