Silk vs Satin Who is better?

These materials are often mentioned interchangeably as if they are the same, but they are very different from each other.

Silk is a natural fiber derived from silkworms and

satin is the name of a specific weave.

Silk

Originally from China, silk is a durable natural material. It’s made from silkworm cocoons and is known for its opulence. 95% of the world's silk is Mulberry as it is the cheapest and easiest to manufacture.

Satin

Silk's imitation weave is normally made from synthetic fiber. A mixture of nylon and polyester, but it sometimes can have silk in it.

Both silk and satin are hypoallergenic, smooth & soft, cause less friction to the hair & skin, used for clothes, bedding, and more.

Silk is expensive, very Breathable, not as delicate but can be easily damaged when wet, shimmer on both sides, fiber from silkworms, kills worms to make. Ps. there are other non worm killing kinds.

Satin is more affordable, Breathable depending on fabric mixture, recommended for dry cleaning or hand washing, shimmer is only on one side of fabric, as just a particular textile weave.
