first time solo traveller tips 😳‼️

just came back from my first solo trip to taiwan and heres some things i did that made me feel safer there 😮‍💨

firstly, since i was on a budget, my oprions were either hostels or airbnbs! i ended up staying in hostels for a peace of mind (at least there is a receptionist to ask for help if anything goes work) i also opted for the private bedroom shared bathroom as it gave me privacy where i didnt have to be in the same sleeping space as others while maintaining affordability

theses are the hostels i stayed at:

- poshpacker hotel (taipei)

- single ease inn (taichung)

- legend pier 2 hotel (kaoshiung)

the prices vary from 20+ to 40+ a night which is super affordable compared to hotels

secondly, i bought a door locking device and camera detection device on shopee (kiasu singaporean things…) but tbh the door locking device wasnt really necessary bc the hostels all had a inside chain / latch lock

i also bought a phone strap bc i have a bad rep of misplacing my items… (lost my phone in america once 😭😭😭) i mean better to be safe than sorry right!

ps; you can also share your location with your family or loved ones for an added sense of security, especially if they are worried about you travelling alone ‼️
