Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
NOTE: This place is permanently closed, but I wanted to keep this memory in #MyLemon8Diary .
After dinner, my date suggested grabbing dessert, and we ended up at this cozy spot in the backstreets of Holland Village! Although I frequent Holland Village, I never knew this hidden street of food places existed—just across the road from the MRT station, behind Raffles Holland V, lies this gem.
Sunday Folks had a beautiful, warm interior that felt like a cozy book café. I thought a fake fireplace would have added to the ambiance. They offered four ice cream flavors: Ferrero Rocky Road, Earl Grey Lavender, Raspberry Rose & Lychee, and Caramel. I opted for my favorite, Caramel Ice Cream with Waffles.
The experience included selecting three toppings. We chose Milk Mochi, Toasted Almond Thins, and Lotus Biscuits.
Here’s my take:
1. Caramel Ice Cream - 10/10. Creamy and not overly sweet! Great for those who enjoy classic flavors, while the more adventurous can try the other options.
2. Milk Mochi - 7/10. A bit of a surprise; it’s condensed milk with powdered sugar. It’s tasty but doesn’t add much texture.
3. Lotus Biscuits - 10/10. The perfect pairing with caramel, adding a satisfying crunch.
4. Toasted Almond Thins - 8/10. Ideal for nut lovers, though not quite my taste.
5. Waffles - Soft, fluffy, with a lovely crust. Highly recommended with the ice cream!
A cute spot for date night! Tap water was available inside to wash down the dessert. Given the generous servings, the price was fair. So sad it closed down.
