Growing up, I always felt super scared around everyone and everything. And ever since middle school, I’ve been struggling with social anxiety. I was always the last one picked for group work, and I lost friends because of my mistakes and the fact that I couldn't overcome my fears. I had no friends following Junior year and was mostly alone Senior year. I avoided joining anything, and now, even after graduating, I can't find my place or a job due to my anxiety. Recently, I spoke to my doctor. She first gave me buspirone, but it made me agitated and caused breakdowns. Now, I'm trying a new medicine called Zoloft, which I’ve been taking for two days. It's a step toward handling my social anxiety and finding a better path ahead. I hope my life will be brighter in the near future.
