My uncle designed my house without 3D renders!!

Hey zesties!!

As you probably know, i’m currently in the midst of home renovation and one month in, I thought it would be interesting to share the journey esp since MY UNCLE DESIGNED OUR HOUSE!

My uncle is about to retire but before that, I asked if he could do one last project for me! He agreed hehe. For some context, he is an interior designer but pretty old school and hence does not know how to do 3D drawing/rendering. He hand draws the layout and design of my house though! From living room, kitchen, study room, toilet and MBR!

Pros of having your relative doing your house:

✨ Cut some cost. Getting an ID is q expensive and thankfully my uncle gave us a big discount! Since we’re on a tight budget, we managed to save us some money!

✨ Ask for help and advice easily

Both my husband and I are pretty easy going? We have certain style and theme in mind but when it comes to type of flooring or wall colours, we leave it entirely to my uncle to decide!

✨ Get timely updates

We are busy with work and don’t have time to go down to check on the house. Luckily my uncle is there to help monitor and check the progress. He also sends us updates so we are aware of what’s going on.

I understand some people are hesitant to ask help from relatives because there’s chances of quarrels and disagreements. Thankfully, we haven’t experienced such things (yet) and hopefully never.
