Recently, I went to this newly opened restaurant in Bugis called So Do Fun which is super famous in China (apparently it has 100+ outlets in China?!)

I think the dishes are similar to Tai Er so if you love Tai Er, you can defo give this place a try too!! They are now having a 50% discount off their signature fish which is only till today, 4 May but they also have 40% (5-7 May) and 30% (8-10 May) discounts too so don’t miss them!!

I went to eat this with my friend and we ordered 4 main dishes + 2 bowls of rice and bc of the discount for the fish, it was only $70+ in total which is p worth!! 😍😍

These were what we’ve ordered:

1. Signature Sichuan boiled fish

I ordered the Sauerkraut version which has a sour savoury taste! I love it omg the fish portion was generous even tho we got the 2 pax one I think it can feed 3 pax LOL and the soup was so flavourful!! There’s the spicy versions if you prefer that as well! 😋 but I still prefer Tai er’s fish a lil better bc the fish for So Do Fun can be a lil fishy at times

2. Brown sugar rice cake

This is my all time fav sweet dish bc I love chewy foods and fried rice cake is 😍😍😍 it’s best paired with the brown sugar sauce 😋😋🤩🤩

3. La Zi ji

This dish was interestingly paired with the mango jelly that looked like egg yolk and the mango was used to neutralise the spicy flavours of the fried chicken but tbh I don’t think the fried chicken was as spicy as what a La Zi Ji usually taste (they prob localised the flavours a lil jic Singaporeans can’t take the spiciness LOL) Overall I loved it anyways bc the fried chicken was not too heavily coated with flour and the chicken to flour ratio was 👍👍👍

4. Sliced pork

I loved the sliced pork bc it was obv not fatty and has a chewy texture to it (prob bc they coated them with a lil bit of flour)! For the flavours wise, I wished it was less sweet and more savoury / spicy ~ still good to give it a try tho bc it was p appetising!

Overall, you should defo give this place a try and I’ll defo bring my partner and family to eat at this place too! It opens till 12am so it can be a great new supper spot for you as well 😍😍😍
