this is by far the worst experience we had over the entire course of our reno 🥲
we went jb for furniture hunting & amongst our loots, we purchased 4 fans from 𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐢 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠
- 1x 60inch aeratron ceiling fan RM2149
- 1x 50inch aeratron ceiling fan RM1849
- 1x 48inch alkova ceiling fan RM579
- 1x vento fino3 corner fan RM1290
(we almost got switches from them but thankfully, our id advised us against it)
the whole purchase was smooth af
🥲 𝐬𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 ❓
- our electrician installed the fans
- we noticed that the fans made a v noisy ‘clicking’ sound
- took videos & asked our ID if it’s normal
- ID dropped by & confirmed that it’s NOT NORMAL
(if only I can upload the video)
- contacted tampoi and asked for resolution, meanwhile contacted aeratron singapore to check if we can get their in house installer (we are willing to pay)
- electrician dropped by a second time to troubleshoot
- fans still made the ‘clicking’ sound
- tampoi took 3 days to reply (after double/ triple texting the sales associate)
- a friend dropped by and said, the fan sounded like it’s gna drop
- electrician came down again to try troubleshoot again w tampoi solution but fail, so we asked to uninstall it
- we engaged a ‘specialised fan installer’ to help us
- the fan installer tried to troubleshoot using tampoi suggestion & also tried his way. nothing works. suggested us to bring it back for them to check
- we brought it back to tampoi after checking w them if we can do that
- tampoi in house technician heard the ‘clicking’ sound & they tried many ways to troubleshoot it. almost all the technicians came down to try lol & we were there for almost 3-4 hours j for them to troubleshoot wtf

& it’s at this pt, we self concluded that the fan got issue 🙃

🙃 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧:
- changed a brand new bracket of the fan
we rejected it bcos they tried to troubleshoot w a brand new bracket & the sound still persist halp
🙃 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫:
- partial refund
- exchanged to another fan of another model
🙃 sales associate says boss dont allow lol
so we decided to talk to boss
& omfg 𝐛𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐫𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐟:
- not giving us eye contact when we talk to him
- 1 min into the convo, he walked away & we had to follow him while we talked wtf? disrespectful much
- went to the troubleshoot area and tell the technician to ‘use cable tie’ or ‘tape’ so that it doesn’t have sound, telling us that that is the only solution ⁉️
- we demanded for a partial refund/ exchange. he said the og box is not avail so he can’t resell (???) smlj so he wanted to resell a faulty fan 👏 wow buy at your own risk guys ‼️
- we pushed more & he walked to his car & drove home ⁉️
this is the first time I heard where in amidst of a resolution, THE BOSS ACTL DROVE HOME ⁉️

anyway, nothing is being solved yet.
we left our faulty fan there bcos wtf should we do w a faulty fan
