My Experience in College as a MassComm Student 👩‍🎓🤭

hi girlies! today I wanna share with you my experience studying masscomm! I graduated last year and am currently enrolled for degree in November ✨

let me share with you some of my fond memories while studying for my diploma in mass communication and being a journalism major 🤍

unfortunately for me I spent two years finishing my diploma at home through online classes because it was in the middle of the pandemic! I only experienced the campus life for the first six months and then march 2020 it was lockdown 😭

but through the challenges I survived and graduated!

since I was a little girl, I’ve always envisioned to become a filmmaker someday and through studying this course I got to explore that side of me 🫶🏻 I had the chance to write and direct most of the short films for our assignment in our film class, video production class etc and it was such a delight even though it was during the pandemic.

I was also appointed as the head of the podcast department for six months! it was such a glorious experience because I had to step out of my comfort zone as an introvert and I always used to hide behind the scenes but there I was leading the podcast department and supervising all of my coursemates’ podcasts etc 🤭

one of my fondest memories was when I had my internship and I actually had to work for an entertainment news outlet, JUICE! It was my first experience as a content writer/journalist 🤭 I wrote over 120++ published articles and I even had my own author page (which is still up now if you search for it hehe) it was something else to see your writing being seen by thousands and thousands of people! I could not believe it when I was also named writer of the month for garnering so many reads with my articles!

I was invited to press conferences; if you see the pic it’s for LOKI! yes the marvel series! but since it was in the middle of the pandemic, we had to do it online 🤭

It was however a tiring field for me because I wrote and published three to four articles per day so I was a bit drained by the time it ended and I knew then I wanted to try other career pathways too but I’m utterly grateful for that experience 🤍

I then graduated in June of last year! I decided to take a year off before pursuing my degree which I will in November! I was mentally exhausted from studying plus dealing with the pandemic was quite challenging so I’m glad I took the gap year because now I feel ready and refreshed to study again 👩‍🎓

All of the skills and experienced I’ve learned in my journey as a mass communication student ultimately led me to content creation 🤍 I fell in love with the art of creating content and here I am! ✨

Life is such an exciting journey but most of the time it’s scary and I know how that feels like but trust your dreams and chase them 🤍✨
