Feminism | My Book Wishlist 💴

Good evening 🍋8️⃣ residents,

I am absolutely in love with Verso Books, an independent publisher who publishes radical texts and without fail manages to make me want to save to get physical copies from their websites😅 I have several on my cart at the moment but here’s part 1 of my wishlist! All of the are categorized under Radical Feminism; a subject I have been reading for over a year now.

1- Abortion and Women’s Choice: The State, Sexuality and Reproductive Freedom by Rosalind Petchesky

As someone who does not plan to have kids, learning about the politics surrounding abortion and women’s fertility is my utmost priority in my 20s.

2- abortion beyond the law by Naomi Braine

It’s a known fact that some countries ban abortion, but that doesn’t mean men suddenly stop their depraved sexual violence against women that can cause pregnancy. I’d love to learn how women everywhere persist and abort anyways through this text.

3- Cultures in Babylon: Feminism from Black Britain to African America by Hazel V. Carby

Can’t resist a Black feminist classic. Most of the brilliant women writers I know are black and they are naturally a feminist too. So excited for this!

Feminist Literature/Gender Studies literally saved my life by offering me answers and tools to work on getting over my fear 💗
