JP-EN Book for Japanese Learners

Today I want to share one of my favorite book that I have read back in 2020 when my Japanese was beginner-level. It’s titled New Penguin Parallel Text Short Stories in Japanese or 日本語の短編小説 edited by Michael Emmerich.

When I read it back then, I found that I actually understood it way better than I initially expected. The book is readable for both beginners and experts in Japanese/English Language. It’s such a treat to have diligent translators working on making books with formats like this. Even the sentences match perfectly in both language at each page! I am mesmerized.

The parallel translation gives you the opportunity to read a wide range of contemporary literature without constantly referring back to dictionary.
