Just came back from my holiday in Seoul and these are some of my MUST-VISIT attractions ๐คญโจ
1. LOTTE WORLD MUSEUM + LOTTE WORLD
A classic attraction which I nonetheless feel is worth a visit ๐ if youโre not a roller coaster person, the adjourning LOTTE MALL has everything that youโre looking for ๐คฉ from cuisines from all countries, to shopping and more! We didnโt get to spend much time in Lotte Mall unfortunately ๐ฅฒ I will definitely be back!! Check out my hacks for Lotte World here ๐
2. EOBI ICE VALLEY
The subject of many โwhy you should visitโ TikTok videos, it is clear why this destination holds its title in the limelight once you arrive. Splendidly resplendent, this natural ice formation catches the light in all the right angles and will take your breath away. Literally, because itโs so cold. ๐ฅถ This ice sculpture is only available at certain points of the year as the ice starts melting in the spring and summer months, so if you were to come to Seoul in the winter, I highly recommend you to check it out! That being said, I do think this is one of the โsee once can alreadyโ sights ๐ as there isnโt much to do other than admire the scenery. Not sure if you are able to hike up the nearby mountain, we havenโt tried!
3. NAMI ISLAND
Home to wild hares, peacocks, and an ostrich farm, Nami Island is worth a visit simply for its natural beauty. There are several restaurants and souvenir shops on the island as well (saw many shops selling snowman keychains and other cute knickknacks, perhaps snowman is their mascot? โ๏ธ) they were all adorable (but slightly overpriced). The island is easily accessible by ferry, and in the warmer months, you can even take a zip line across! ๐คฉ how fun is that ?! If you donโt wish to dine on the island, there are restaurants near the ferry jetty on the mainland that sells delicious fresh Korean spring chicken (a specialty of that region) ๐ In the winter, you can also buy marshmallows to toast by the numerous firepits around the island ๐ฅโ๏ธ
4. GWANGJANG MARKET
Not just a haven for authentic local food but also home to hidden bakeries and local shops selling beautiful handmade & popular accessories !! I got some beautifully embroidered coasters from a shop for ~$2.50 each, and embroidered mini pouches for ~$3 each ๐ they also sell embroidered placements for ~$6 each! Food wise, we didnโt try the famous twisted donut but I had the BEST tteokbokki and hotteok of my life there ๐๐ the food was good and authentic and definitely unlike any sg Korean restaurant ๐คช
5. STRAWBERRY FARM
Such a unique, fun and family friendly experience~ ๐ documented my entire experience here !! Trying Korean strawberries is a MUST if you come in the right season, they are an EDGE UP from any strawberries you can find in ntuc ๐ฎโ๐จ
โจ BONUS: LOCAL MARKETS โจ
If you have the chance, I highly recommend making a stop at one of the local morning markets. Apart from fresh produce and local snacks, many of these stalls also sell freshly made breakfast (think Korean oden soup, fresh tteokbokki, fried pancakes) to satisfy your cravings ๐คค we saw a stall selling all sorts of kimchi (octopus, radish, all the other veggies you can think of), as well as a stall selling all kinds of dried seaweed used in traditional Korean stews that you can bring home for yourself ๐คฉ
