PICK your own 🍓🍓🍓 in SEOUL!! 🇰🇷

If you’re heading to Seoul this year and are still in the midst of planning your itinerary, here is your sign to add STRAWBERRY PICKING to your list 🍓❤️🇰🇷

We went in December which is also strawberry season 🍓😋😋 which of course means…strawberry picking!! 🧺🍓 I’ve been to the strawberry farm in Genting and I have to say…that’s was a huge disappointment ☹️ barely any strawberries and all so small 😞 so I didn’t have any expectations before I came here..and boy was I blown away by this experience!!

The experience begins with a tour bus pickup at one of the subway stations at the crack of dawn. We booked a tour that includes strawberry picking, nami island and eobi ice village so that’s why we started so early! 🌅 The journey to the strawberry farm, which lies on the outskirts of Seoul, took around 45min-1 hour, perfect time to catch up on some sleep 😴 the guide knew that we all woke super early to catch the bus so she told us she would wake us up 10 minutes before we reached, so nice! 😌

Once we reached the strawberry farm, we were greeted warmly by the strawberry farm owner 👨‍🌾 who introduced us to the farm as well as plucking etiquette we should all observe so that everyone can have a pleasant and enjoyable experience (e.g. only touch the strawberries that you intend to pluck, because the strawberries are very soft and delicate and will bruise easily/ may rot if roughhandled). He also taught us how to pluck strawberries safely without damaging the fruit (tilt the strawberry down and it will break cleanly from the stem! 🌱) He also told us that we may find several oddly shaped strawberries (e.g. rectangular shaped berries) and that we don’t have to feel that we need to “collect” them all 🤭

We are allowed to pick as many strawberries as we want as long as they are able to fit into the plastic box with the lid closed. We are each allowed to bring home our own boxes of hand plucked strawberries at no additional charge! Also do note that we are not allowed to eat the strawberries inside the greenhouse while plucking to ensure that that are sufficient berries for everyone 🌈

After picking the strawberries, we returned to the warm farmhouse where we were treated to a delicious snack of warm waffles and fresh strawberry and apple jam, all homemade by the farm owners 😍 it was so delicious! We could also wash our strawberries to eat on the spot, or purchase strawberry latte to warm our bellies and hands 😌

Overall, I highly recommend this strawberry picking experience! 💯 The strawberries were SO HUGE and SO SWEET compared to the ones we see in sg supermarkets 🥵 they are completely organic and taste super fresh and delicious!! We gobbled down so many juicy strawberries that day 🤭😙😋
