best bread - gokoku japanese bakery 🍞

i genuinely love pastries and i’d stuff myself w them if it wasn’t for their calories. i’ve been sourcing out the best bread and pastries for several years and it’s safe to say gokoku’s my favourite thus far.

what caught my attention initially is the size of their buns HAHA. they’re huge and they just look visually appealing. what i also noticed are their unique yet very simple flavours.

when i tried them for the first time, i didn’t fall in love w just the flavours but their quality of bread and i can tell it’s their trademark. majority of their pastries don’t have fillings but just a layer of flavour over it. for example, my go-tos are their brown sugar and matcha bread. just a little bit of flavour and the texture of the bread carries the rest of the experience!

they have several outlets in sg so do at least give it a try! they’re pretty popular so do expect a long queue. average price is around $2.60 :)
