Many students spend more than half of their day using electronics, whether it be your phone, tv, or laptop. It seems attention spans are becoming shorter and shorter, and spending so much time using your electronics can definitely contribute to that. You may also struggle with procrastination, which again calls for none other than a digital detox.

So what is a digital detox? This is essentially taking a day, a few days, a week, or however long your want to disconnect and unplug from all devices. This is incredible important to becoming more focused and being able to work harder without getting distracted. If you have issues with headaches from always being on your phone, this definitely helps as well.

For a digital detox, it’s super hard to go into it cold-turkey. So, there’s a few steps that you can take beforehand to make it as easy as possible. By turning your phone off 1 hour before bed and getting into the habit of reading, or even picking up other hobbies, you’re off to a great start. Digital detoxes can be super tough, but they can also be incredibly rewarding and beneficial.
