Here's a simple recipe to make your own DIY nontoxic cleaner using vinegar & orange peels:
WHAT YOU’L NEED:
•Orange peels (you can also use lemon or lime peels)
•White vinegar
•Glass jar with a lid
•Glass spray bottle
1️⃣After eating your oranges, save the peels & place them in a glass jar. You can also mix in lemon or lime peels for a more citrusy scent.
2️⃣Pour enough white vinegar into the jar to fully cover the orange peels. Seal the jar with the lid.
3️⃣Let the mixture sit for at least 2 weeks in a cool, dark place. During this time, the vinegar will absorb the oils & scent from the orange peels, making it more pleasant-smelling.
4️⃣After 2 weeks, strain the orange peel-infused vinegar using a mesh strainer or cheesecloth. Discard the peels.
5️⃣Pour the strained liquid into a spray bottle, and dilute it with water at a 1:1 ratio (one part vinegar, one part water).
⭐️For extra cleaning power, you can add a few drops of essential oils like tea tree or lavender, which also have antibacterial properties.
⭐️This cleaner is great for countertops, sinks, bathroom surfaces & even floors. Avoid using it on marble or granite, as vinegar can damage those surfaces.
