Library Borrowing is a Win-Win!

I thoroughly enjoy buying a brand new book from the bookstore as much as the next person. BUT, I love the library so much more! I visit my local library once a week – it’s a place where everyone knows my name. By using your local library, you are contributing to keeping that library open, along with all the resources it provides to the community. Also, did you know that by picking up or requesting books from the library, you are still supporting the author? Yep!

Authors make money every time their book is loaned out. The library purchases each book at a higher price than someone would at the retail price. The library often purchases multiple copies of the book and sometimes has to repurchase a book due to wear and tear.

The library is how people find new authors too! If you read a book that you borrowed from the library and really like it, there is a chance you will buy it AND tell others about it, increasing the chance of the book being purchased. It’s a win-win for everyone!
