Under all this hair, I have an issue that I’ve been struggling with for years. When I was younger, I probably purchased every dandruff shampoo that you can buy at a store. With every product, I would be excited that my flaky scalp days was over but over time the products did not work for me. When I was in college, I gave up on the dandruff shampoos and just used any shampoo and washed my hair once a week. I would have a clean scalp by the beginning on the week then have a white scalp by the end. I stopped getting braids or get my hair done in general because why spend over $100 on a style that I had to was within a week. 2023 was the year I had a decent medical insurance policy so I decided to go to a dermatologist. At this point the flakiness had transferred to my ears. The dermatologist looked at my ears and my scalp and diagnosed me with Seborrheic Dermatitis.

I already know some people cannot see a dermatologist and that’s why I’m making this post. You can still get some relief if you have Seborrheic Dermatitis or if you have other scalp conditions like Psoriasis. I’ve listed three products that I’ve discovered this year that has helped me a lot and I recommend for you to try as well.

Tarsum Relief Shampoo: This was a recommendation from my dermatologist. You can use it as a pre treatment or as a regular shampoo. I put on my scalp before I wash it and leave there for 30 min before lathering it up in the shower. I use regular shampoo after and rinse it out. It’s smells like Tar but it will get the job done.

Keralyt5: I discovered this myself. I bought this shampoo because this shampoo has salicylic acid and this ingredient is good for chemical exfoliation. This ingredient is usually in acne products so if it safe to go your face then it good to go on your scalp. I use it the same way I use the Tarsum shampoo.

As I AM Dandruff Oil Treatment: This is a oil for your scalp. It has olive oil, tea tree oil,and salicylic acid as well. I apply it on my scalp before I take out my twist for my twistout. This give me the extra protection after using my shampoos. It smells good and you can use it as needed.

All three products are affordable and all these items are linked in my bio under Seborrheic Dermatitis/ Damdruff Products. If you have tried any of them or know any good recommendation to help with scalp conditions let me know.
