the MOST BEAUTIFUL place in HOKKAIDO 🇯🇵🗾🎏

☀️When I visited Furano in Hokkaido, Farm Tomita was the place I was looking forward to visit the most. in Japan, it is known as the Mother of All Flower Fields, and it definitely lived up to its name!

🌺We visited in July (summer season) and all the flowers were in full bloom. The rows of flowers in the fields were arranged by colours and it was absolutely gorgeous. Lavender starts blooming from late-June to mid-August, with the ideal lavender viewing season being from 10 July to 25 July.

📸As it was not crowded and the fields are quite big, it was quite easy to take photos without anybody in the background. However, it is a popular spot for group tours to visit so it would be ideal to visit in the morning when it opens.

👗I would recommend wearing a bright-coloured dress without patterns to stand out in your photos. You will not have to trample on any flowers to get the “surrounded by flowers” shot as there are built walkways inside of the fields.

🛍️The souvenir shop is well-stocked with lavender-related products (essential oils, scented pillows, postcards) for you to bring home. My favourite souvenir from this shop was the pillow spray and we loved the smell so much we bought a few bottles to bring back to Singapore. Even if you’re not interested in shopping, you must visit the shop as the interior decoration is absolutely spectacular.

🍦A trip to Farm Tomita would not be not complete without having a meal at the cafe - where you can have lavender ice cream (which starts from 250 yen / $2.50), lavender coffee, lavender cream puff, lavender cake… the list goes on. Yes, it’s specifically catered to tourists, but the food was honestly quite nice! The view from the cafe is also perfect for landscape photos and a good respite when the sun gets too hot.
