HDB BTO FLAT SELECTION for dummies 🏡

If you have just received an invitation from the Housing Development Board to select a Build-to-Order (BTO) flat, CONGRATULATIONS! Honestly, the process of applying and failing multiple times was #NotForMe but that’s just part of the procedure to book a BTO in SG 🤷. Here’s what you should know before attending your first appointment:

📃Bring the necessary documents. This is important if you are applying under the Deferred Income Assessment scheme. If you are a graduate, your degree scroll (together with a letter from the university certifying that you were a full-time student during the course of your study) should be sufficient. If you are a student, an enrolment letter should be sufficient (can be auto generated if you’re from NUS).

❌Not necessary to print the appointment letter. There will be documents on the HDB Portal for you to download. It is not necessary for you to bring these forms down with you to HDB Hub as you can request for it to be printed (unless it’s your HLE letter). There is also no need to fill up any of these forms as it will be done so during the appointment.

📱Make sure your SingPass application is downloaded and working. Your CPF contributions will be printed for you on the spot and you would be required to log in to the CPF portal using your phone, so please make sure it is in order before the appointment.

‼️Decide what block and unit number you want before attending the appointment. This is a no-brainer. Give yourself a bit of time to go through the block and floor plans.

2️⃣The next appointment would be around 6 to 9 months after the selection date (a notification would be given around 2 weeks prior to the appointment date) but we were informed that this appointment can be pushed back if the relevant parties are not free to attend.
