My mom was wrong…👆🏼

My mom use to tell me oftentimes that I’d understand her decisions and the way she raised us when I had kids and while I do get “some” stuff I still think that she was absolutely wrong in so many ways. This is so common in the Hispanic community especially when it comes to be verbally abusive and ignoring mental health. I just can’t imagine putting my kid through what she put me thru.

Now I want to say that as moms we do our best with the tools we have at a given moment but I firmly believe that it’s not an excuse to treat your kids a certain way.

As an adult now I have to go to therapy and have trauma responses because of things that she did to me. I am so grateful that I’m aware of this issues and I’m willing to work on it so I can be the best mom to my son.
