Should you get LinkedIn Premium?

As a user of LinkedIn Basic plan, you'll get a two-month free trial that you can use anytime! The trial is to help you try out the premium features before committing to paying for LinkedIn Premium plans.

There are 4 types of plans that you can choose from:

1. Premium Career (for jobseekers)

2. Premium Business (for business owners)

3. Sales Navigator Core (for people looking for sales and leads)

4. Recruiter Lite (for HR/TA/recruitment employees)

Each plan is designed for a specific target group based on their needs. I decided to try out the Premium Career plan as I've been looking for a new role lately.

Benefits of using the premium plan:

1. I can see who has been viewing my profiles without limitations.

2. When looking at a role on LinkedIn, I can see what type of skills I need for the job

3. I can also see how many people applied for the job already, their experience level (eg: entry level, senior level) and at which percentile of applicants I am (eg: top 10%).

4. I have access to LinkedIn Learning, which is useful for self development as they have many different courses that are detailed and experiential.

5. Although not many, the InMail credits lets me message recruiters even when they have not accepted my connection request.

You should definitely try out the free LinkedIn Premium trial if you can! There are definitely benefits that will be helpful to you when looking for a role, but I'm not sure if I will be willing to pay RM120/month for these benefits once the trial period is over, as it is quite expensive.
