DIY Alphabet Color Tracing

This simple & purposeful craft will keep your little one busy learning at home while strengthening fine motor skills and expressing creativity 🎨

Here’s how to do it:

1️⃣ Grab an assortment of markers

2️⃣ Write the alphabet on a large piece of paper. Alternate through the colors

3️⃣ Offer your child paints that match the same color of markers. Make sure you have a qtip for each color

4️⃣ Trace the letters!

🎨 Talk about the different colors. Have your child name them

🎨 Introduce each letter BEFORE they trace it. Have your child say the letter out loud while tracing. This helps create muscle memory

🎨 Share the sound each letter makes. Come up with a list of words together (A - Apple, astronaut, airplane, etc)

🎨 Model how to grip correctly. Think of how you hold a pencil and show your child how to hold their qtip that way
