BUM BUM CREAM | overhyped or not?

As a fan of Sol de Janeiro as a whole and having tried several of their products, I must admit that in my opinion, that the Bum Bum Cream falls short of its overhyped reputation. Many rave about its strong, distinctive scent, which sure is delicious at first, but I find it to be sooo overpowering and intense for my liking in a body cream. Also, despite the claims of this having such firming effects, I have never seem to notice any difference, even when using it consistently.

Considering these cons, this cream is $48 (can be found at Sephora) and I just find that so expensive, that it's difficult to justify the investment. I've also noticed that the cream tends to leave my skin feeling sticky as it’s so thick which can be a bit uncomfortable in Florida weather 😬

It’s not that I dislike this cream, I do appreciate that the cream moisturizes well and the scent is pleasant, and can be found in a lot of Sol de Janeiro's products. Alternatively, Trader Joe’s makes a cream that is almost identical, for around $7/$8… which is sooo much more worth it to me, especially if you like the scent. What are your thoughts?
