Bye shaving! 👋🏻🪒

Hiii!

I grew up being very conscious of my underarm hair and started shaving at a young age. It kinda resulted in my pits darkening and then I also become conscious of my underarm darken skin 😣

I initially started at Musee with the $39 unlimited underarm package in 2019, but hopped over to JapanIPL when I learnt about their style and brand ways :)

💙 THE WAY OF JAPANIPL

What I appreciate most is that there is no signing of packages and no hard selling AT ALL! You pay by shots, essentially.

JapanIPL advised for sessions to be 3 weeks apart for each area you zap.

🕶️ WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION

• signing in: selecting which area you’d like to zap that session

• after entering the treatment room, the staff will give you privacy to change into a nice ‘scrub’. Ok it’s not a scrub, idk how to describe it haha.

• staff enters, shaves the treatment area (I love this part best, feels so pampering hehe)

• cold gel applied -> zap! -> aloe Vera applied

• change back and leave

• checking out: payment, if needed

At each stage, the therapist will let you know what’s gonna happen and checks in with you whether the zap feels alright. That’s what I appreciate about their service too!

🪒 HOW IT FEELS

With their latest technology, it feels pretty cold when the machine touches you! It’s quite soothing, actually.

The zap can feel like a pinch at times, especially at more sensitive areas like your private lady parts. You can tell the therapist to reduce the intensity and they’ll do so

😝 MY EXPERIENCE

I knew I’d stick with JapanIPL when I had my first Brazilian session. I was super nervous and embarrassed for the treatment. But the staff was very gentle, kind, and non judgemental (no comments made and no side eyes), which made me feel very comfortable throughout the treatment!

I’m NOT a consistent zapper. And by that, I mean once in 3-4 MONTHS 😅

The good news is that my underarm barely has any growth anymore since early 2022! And for Brazilian, which started in 2022, has reduced significantly too. So this shows that even with long intervals, turning hairless is still possible 😁

💸 BREAKING MY WALLET?

On the contrary! I love that JapanIPL holds multiple events across the year and sells shots at a promotional price. That’s when I top up my shots :) I’ve never bought non-promo shots before haha. I also love how they’re constantly giving out freebies whenever I visit! The best I’ve received was a p cool calendar haha.
