Mother Daughter Poem

This poem has me crying 😭!! She has beautiful poetry. You can find Jessica Jocelyn on Instagram! I showed my daughter this and she started crying. My precious baby 💖

So I was brought up with tough love, I was unfortunately in a bad environment with my sisters and cousins. We weren't raised in a good place. I don't want to get into all of the things but 😞 yea.

We finally moved out of that house and my mom would always work. She was always busy and we didn't really spend a lot of time with our mother. We had to make sure the house was cleaned and food ready when Mom came home. Nothing wrong with that. I know my mom loves us and she was surviving and didn't have time to show us. She couldn't, her mother never showed her as well and my grandmother's mother most likely never showed her. on and on..

So now I see myself holding back sometimes or not showing as much love (hugs, kisses, lifting words) I critique her more or tell her to wash her face and keep up with her image cause she's becoming a young lady. I hate that I do that!!

So I'm over here praying and just trying to hold my tongue and let her be and show her more love. I'm determined to break that curse!!

Her poems really help with that struggle.
