Positive mindset of a wise muslim

Assalamualaikum, my lemon8 friends…

Controlling our thought in a positive manner can increase the effectiveness of our prayers and worship as well as relieve ourselves from the anger, depression, and anxieties.

Unlike what a lot of individuals think, we can actually pick which thoughts to believe. Even though we may not have control over which particular thought comes to us first at any given time, we do have the option of ignoring or pursuing it.

Here’s a few of positive ways of thinking that we can instil in our daily life to become a better version of ourselves:

1. Practicing self-awareness in order to avoid projecting one's own feelings and difficulties onto others.

2. Don’t make assumptions and jumping to conclusions about a situation without checking up.

3. The ability to strive in confronting circumstances and being control of your own thoughts.

4. Instead of dwelling on a problem, focus on taking action to solve it. Put forth every effort and leave the outcome to Allah. My favourite teaching in Islam from Hadith Tirmidhi 2517, Anas bin Malik narrated that a man said: “O Messenger of Allah! Shall I tie my camel and rely(upon Allah), or leave it loose and rely(upon Allah)?" He said: "Tie it and rely(upon Allah)." It teaches us the importance of putting full effort in whatever we’re doing but in the same time we must have 100% faith on Him. No effort to better yourself = No changes will be made. Hidup kalau tak ada usaha tapi tetiba nak tawakkal je, hmmm susah la.

5. Stop arguing with other people for Allah's sake. Especially with someone who has made abundantly clear a lack of willingness to listen or understand about a certain matter and situation. Imam As-Syafie once said, aku mampu berhujah dengan 10 orang yang berilmu tetapi aku pasti kalah dengan seorang yang jahil, kerana orang yang jahil itu tidak pernah faham landasan ilmu. Right?
