I’m a Stay-at-Home Wife, & here are my TOP TIPS

I recently discovered I stopped saying “adulting is hard” or “adulting is scary”. Maybe because I’ve fully accustomed to life without the care of my parents, and I think its a good thing!! I’ve grown so much, and just wanted to encourage anyone out there who is starting their journey living on their own💖 It’s not easy at first, but an incredible experience I’m sure!

I’ve been so fortunate to not need to worry about making time for home chores when living with my parents. Needless to say, I’ve only ever operated a washing machine when living on my own😂 It’s actually comforting to know that there are others out there like me too, because I receive questions on “how to use this/that” when doing the laundry.

I have an LG 12/8kg washer and dryer combi. These days, I don’t find myself using the dryer too much. We have way too many clothes that cannot be dried in the dryer and its very tedious and stressful to make sure we don’t accidentally dry them with other clothes. I also learnt that due to the extreme heat and steam, my clothes come out smelling like a steamer rather than the softener or scent booster beads I used. I prefer to dry them indoors with the fan on overnight, I feel the clean laundry scent stays on my clothes a long time!

💖MY PERSONAL LAUNDRY TIPS💖

1. Use the same hanger in your wardrobe to dry your clothes so it returns seamlessly once dried

👗I’ll recommend stocking up on hangers you like + hangers with clips! This way you can do without pegs.

2. Your favourite laundry scent will last longer by indoor drying with the ceiling fan on, and immediately putting them back once dried

3. Pods & scent boosters go into the washer BEFORE your laundry

🛑I don’t have a pod brand/type to recommend as scents is quite personal, but I really love Downy’s scent booster in Refresh (link in bio)

4. Use a colour catcher to prevent colour runs, it also allows you to mix whites with colours (LINK IN BIO)

*I also use one sheet per load and throw it in at the same time as my pods and/or scent boosters. You can use more than one sheet if you wish:)
