I used to think living in a condo with amenities like the gym is good enough, but I realised most condo gyms are poorly equipped! Itโs also very sian to have to share the space and if you have a routine and like going at certain timings, you tend to bump into people you sometimes might not want to meet๐คญ๐
When we were buying a house, having a room for a home gym was one of my husbandโs wishes. For me, I was happy it could be his man cave and he could put everything unsightly in there:) In the beginning, I only used our gym to accompany him but Iโll do HIIT, Pilates or Yoga. Some of the workout videos I chanced upon online used some weights, so the weights in the gym came in handy. And then step by step, I slowly got into lifting and now Iโm just focused on growing my ๐ and getting stronger!
There are sooo many perks to having your home gym, the biggest being privacy and time freedom after #My9to5 Sure, there are 24/7 gyms, but nothing beats just going into one of the rooms in your home and knowing the gym equipment has only been touched by you๐ No weird gaze from men if youโre a female too and you can wear anything you want!
Where we got our gym equipment:
They are mostly ordered from a local seller - DirectHomeGym. You can order from taobao or alibaba at a much lower price, but youโll have to assemble on your own, and the Massfit G7 is not easy to assemble at all! It took DirectHomeGym about 1-2 hours!
Our gym mats - Linked here
We spent about $5-6k in the beginning, but over the last 2-3 years we added some smaller equipment and weights, etc!
